What you will do

The next Tour de France will start form England on July, 5th, 2014, and will arrive in Paris on July, 27th. This will be the 101th Tour de France.

It comprises 21 stops, for a total of 2 272 miles (before ratification) ; the itinerary provided here is, at this point, only approximate, so the overall automatically calculated distance is shorter).

Please note that 3 stage stops are not citys'names : La Planche des Belles Filles (a ski resort in Plancher-les-Mines), Arenberg (a mining site in Wallers) and Hautacam (a ski resort in Beaucens).

  • This will be the 20th start outside France in the history of the Tour. Leeds is for the first time stage city. 1
  • On July, 5th, the first stage will start from Leeds and arrive in Harrogate (distance : 191 km). 2
  • York is yet another first-time stage city in this Tour de France. 3
  • On July, 6th, the 2nd stage will start from York and arrive in Sheffield (distance : 198 km). 4
  • Cambridge is the fifth first-time stage city in this Tour de France. 5
  • On July, 7th, the 3rd stage will start from Cambridge and arrive in London (distance : 159 km). 6
  • The Tour will enter France on July, 8th. 7
  • On July, 8th, the 4th stage will start from Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and arrive in Lille Métropole (distance : 164 km). 8
  • The Belgium city of Ypres is yet another first-time stage city in this Tour de France. 9
  • On July, 9th, the 5th stage will start from Ypres and arrive on the mining site of Wallers-Arenberg, Porte du Hainaut (distance : 156 km). The last few miles are typical of another famous cycling race : Paris-Roubaix. 10
  • Arras has already been a stage city of the Tour de France twice. 11
  • On July, 10th, the 6th stage will start from Arras and arrive in Reims (distance : 194 km). 12
  • Epernay has already been a stage city of the Tour de France five times. 13
  • On July, 11th, the 7th stage will start from Epernay and arrive in Nancy (distance : 233 km). 14
  • Tomblaine will be a stage city of the Tour de France for the 2nd time. 15
  • On July, 12th, the 8th stage will start from Tomblaine and arrive in Gérardmer (distance : 161 km). 16
  • On July, 13th, the 9th stage will start from Gérardmer and arrive in Mulhouse (distance : 166 km). 17
  • On July, 14th, the 10th stage will start from Mulhouse and arrive in La Planche des Belles Filles, in the city of Plancher-les-Mines (distance : 161 km). 18
  • A regular of the Tour de France, Besançon will be a stage city for the 20th time. Contestants will a have a resting day here on July, 15th. 19
  • On July, 16th, the 11th stage will start from Besançon and arrive in Oyonnax (distance : 186 km). Oyonnax will be yet another first-time stage city in this Tour de France. 20
  • Bourg-en-Bresse has already been a stage city of the Tour de France twice. 21

  • On July, 24th, the 18th stage will start from Pau and arrive at Hautacam, in Beaucens (distance : 145 km). 33
  • Maubourguet Pays du Val d’Adour is yet another new stage city of this Tour de France. 34
  • On July, 25th, the 19th stage will start from Maubourguet Pays du Val d’Adour and arrive in Bergerac (distance : 208 km). 35
  • On July, 26th, the 20th stage, an individual time trial will start from Bergerac and arrive in Périgueux (distance : 54 km). 36
